When the head cook of the jungle camp offered to take me fishing on the Guyanese Amazon, I knew that improvisation was a way of life. He used a Piranha as bait to catch the even mightier Wolf fish. Perhaps conveniently for him, he did not. With no rod available, the tackle was wrapped around his forefinger; fortunately for him, he still had one despite previous close encounters on the river!
